He earned a great profit after a real estate deal but learned a costly lesson in the process. He had to pay taxes on the profit. Had he bought the piece of property with his IRA, he would not have had to pay taxes.

[24.27] Where is the right balance? It’s really up to the individual.

[26:00] What is the lesson learned? Eric advises the audience to take advantage of the tax deferral from a traditional IRA savings account or if you have been really good about your retirement planning and have Roth IRA accounts, use those funds for long-term investments and asset diversification. Don’t bet it all on black and really diversify.
